Academic Overview
St. Ann School is a Catholic elementary
school with grades from K-8.
Our Academic curriculum is aligned with the Diocesan guidelines and the
Pennsylvania State Academic Standards.
All students receive instruction in the areas of religion, language
arts, reading, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, physical
education, computer and library skills.
The students receive instruction across the curriculum
areas using a variety of multidisciplinary approaches including flexible
grouping, whole group instruction,
small group instruction and hands on teaching.
Technology is incorporated into the classrooms through the use of interactive whiteboards, multimedia projectors and document presenters. Teachers use a variety of educational websites to present material through means of video to develop and enhance the concepts being taught. Computers are used in all classrooms by both the students and the teachers to enhance the curriculum.
Remedial support services are provided in reading and mathematics through Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 to those who meet the IU criteria. In addition, instructional support and enrichment opportunities are provided in our resource room to the students who meet the school criteria. Enrichment and learning support is also provided within the classroom curriculum to ensure that the needs of all students are being met.
