Opportunities all year long (Sept-June)
Cafeteria Volunteer (Every other week, 11:00 am to 1:15 pm or on a substitute basis) - Help serve healthy lunches and keep the cafeteria neat and clean by wiping down the tables. Enjoy the chance to see your children during the day.
Classroom Parent – Be one of two parents for your child’s class who helps plan and organize holiday parties. This includes hosting three parties – Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. You assist the Home and School Events committee to identify volunteers for the activity assigned to your class (such as First Communion reception). You also assist the phone parent with the phone chain as needed.
Classroom Phone Parent- This is a
great job for someone who wants to help out but is unable to participate in
activities during school time. In this role, you make phone calls to
class parents, assisting the Home and School in organizing volunteers for
certain events (such as garage sale). Coordination is made with the homeroom
parent.
Chaperone - Serve as a chaperone on
your child’s class trip. Each class takes approximately 2-3 field trips per
year and teachers typically seek 1-2 chaperones per trip.
Advancement Committee: The purpose of this committee is to publicize and market St. Ann School. Advancement is responsible for creating marketing materials and representing the school during community events. Help is needed with photography, graphic design, video editing, database updating, and event planning.
Activities: This committee coordinates the many fun one-time activities and special events held throughout the year including: the Emmaus Halloween parade, roller skating party, movie night, upper grade dance and green and gold day. There are opportunities to get involved with one or more of these events.
Events: The Events committee organizes and plans the many important special event receptions held throughout the year including: the faculty luncheon, Communion and Confirmation receptions and the end of year graduation dinner. This committee works closely with parents in each grade who volunteer to ensure these events are a success. Help is need on the overall committee with planning and coordination.
Hospitality: This committee provides hospitality services at important school functions. Events include the new parent meeting in August, Back to School Nights in September, Catholic Schools Week in late January/early February and the three Home and School parent meetings during the year. Volunteers help set up and serve refreshments to those attending. Assist with one or more of these events. A co-chair is also needed for this committee.
Teacher Appreciation: During the year, members of this committee work to provide a variety of special recognition activities for our wonderful faculty members. Assist in planning and offering ongoing events and initiating new ideas for recognition.
Technology: The Technology committee
manages the content and updates for the school website, provides
recommendations and support for various technology initiatives for the
school, and also provides on-site support and maintenance of minor
technology issues that may arise.
Wellness: The purpose of this committee is to help promote wellness, fitness, good nutrition and health education throughout the year. Special wellness activities are planned such as healthy snack day and a health fair. Members help plan and implement activities and projects to recognize and promote important and interesting children’s health and wellness topics.
Special Class Responsibilities: Each class is responsible for hosting a special event. The list below identifies which event this will be for each class. As the date for these approaches, the class phone or homeroom parent will call to remind you of this obligation and request your involvement. Please make a special effort to participate. Your child will be the recipient of other parents’ generosity each year at St. Ann’s. If you are interested in helping with an event that is not assigned to your child’s grade, please feel free to volunteer. We welcome all volunteers at all times!
Walkathon/Family Picnic- September - Our
largest fundraiser. Join our team as we begin to plan for next year's
event.
Emmaus Halloween Parade-October:
Assist in designing and decorating a float to match our selected theme. Join
family and friends from St. Ann’s School in walking in this annual community
parade.
Roller Skating Party – November: Help organize this annual event. Assist in advertising, selling and distributing tickets, chaperoning the event, serving as the school representative to the skating rink.
Santa’s Gift Shop – Early December: Help price and set up the variety of gifts available during Santa’s Gift Shop; Assist the children in shopping and wrapping their gifts.
Saint Nicholas Day - Early December: Assist in bagging candy and distributing to the children in recognition of St. Nicholas Day.
Family Movie Night – January : Help plan this fun family event; Help design flyer and advertise the event to school families; Assist with set up, greeting families, serving of refreshments, and clean-up
Book Fair: Held during Catholic Schools week; end of January/early February; Volunteers are needed to help set up/break down and help students select and purchase books.Clothing Drive – Assist in receiving clothing donations and loading donation truck at end of day.
Science Fair – March: Assist in serving refreshments.
Student Dance – May: Assist in set up, decoration, refreshments and chaperoning a dance for the upper grade students (6, 7, and 8)
Green & Gold day – June: An annual half-day event where school teams of Green & Gold compete against each other in a variety of fun games. Volunteers help run games, accompany students to games and activities, serve refreshments, and set up and break down.
Garage Sale – June: A St. Ann’s tradition, this enormous fundraiser has been held for thirty years. Morning, afternoon, and evening opportunities are available to help set-up, sort, and categorize over a 7 day period. On the days of the sale, there is a bake sale and the kitchen is open as well. All school parents will be called on to make this a continued success.
Pre-School, Pre-K, and K – Communion Reception: after 9:00 am Mass the first Sunday in May. This reception celebrates all children who receive their First Holy Communion.
Grades 1 & 2– Faculty Luncheon: March – a theme luncheon is given to show appreciation to our faculty.
Grades 6, & 7- Confirmation Reception: March – after 4:30 pm Confirmation Service. This reception celebrates all children who are newly confirmed.
Grade 3, 4, & 5 – Graduation Dinner/Reception: Early June – A dinner that celebrates the entire 8th grade graduates from St. Ann School.
